Sep 8 - Executive Director, CNM Foundation
This position plans, organizes, and directs all CNM Foundation fundraising activities. Prepares strategic plan aligned with College priorities with short and long-range goals, established objectives, policies, and operating procedures to meet College philanthropic revenue objectives. Works with internal and external constituents to identify and prioritize fundraising guidance and leadership to the administrators, faculty, staff, and volunteers. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness. Provides staff leadership to the Foundation Board of Directors and its working committees. Serves as the chief staff officer of the CNM Foundations, Inc. Prepares and administers Development Office department budget. Oversees the fiscal operation, investments, and fiduciary responsibilities of the CNM Foundation. Represents the Foundation to media, government agencies, funding agencies, and the public. Coordinates prospect identification, solicitation, and endowments. Plans and coordinates fund drives for special projects; works with College's Marketing and Communications Office to develop public relations materials and promote fundraising programs. Sep 5 - Administrative Director
The Nancy Floyd Haworth Foundation seeks an Administrative Director who will assist the Foundation in carrying out its mission to provide breast cancer education and support to New Mexicans. Serves as the organization’s public face, assists the Board in fundraising, and manages the daily operations of the Foundation. Works with Board to plan an annual educational and fundraising luncheon. Plans regular meetings and educational seminars for the Foundation members and the community Part time position, requiring an average of 25 – 30 hours a week. The School for Advanced Research (SAR) development division is hiring a development associate, institutional giving. This position provides support for the vice president for development in managing all aspects of the organization’s fundraising but focuses primarily on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding all corporate, foundation, and government grant relationships. Sep 10 - AFP's Response to National Post Article on Policing of Political Activities of Charities
(Sept. 8, 2014) Recently, Andrew Coyne penned this column in the National Post focused on the policing of political activities of charities. Coyne concluded that the best means of addressing the situation is to “take away the charitable tax designation—not selectively, based on their ability to dance on the head of a CRA pin, but across the board, outright.” The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) finds this conclusion fundamentally flawed. The charitable tax designation and the tax credit represent a gesture of confidence on the part of the people by way of their elected representatives, an acknowledgement of the effectiveness of nonprofit and community action and a commitment to the longstanding tradition of philanthropy in Canada. ... more >
