Message from the AFP-NM Chapter President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Thank you for your dedication and service each and every day.  This is a dynamic and innovative nonprofit professional community like no other and it is a privilege to serve as the 2018 President of the New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-NM).

It is important to me, as your Chapter President and to your board that we bring innovation, excitement, and engaging learning opportunities to you as a valued member of AFP-NM.  If you are already a member, thank you for your participation!  If you are not currently a member, please join us for lunch and a networking session and consider joining.  Members enjoy programs, services and resources for fundraising professionals at nonprofits of all shapes and sizes. In addition to local benefits, you tap into a greater platform of resources through AFP International.  AFP International includes over 30,000 fundraising professionals around the world, with about 150 throughout New Mexico.

We hope your membership in AFP NM is rewarding professionally and personally.   AFP-NM is working for you through — strengthening your fundraising skills, learning best ethical practices, networking with colleagues across the state, finding a mentor, and gaining leadership experience.

I am a proud member of AFP for 6 years and have grown significantly as a fundraising professional as a result. From learning how to make better major gift solicitations to understanding effective donor communications channels, AFP has provided a real return on investment to me and to my employer.   I am also fortunate to have built relationships with colleagues across the state and around the nation through my membership.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming luncheons, workshops and programs!

If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact me anytime.

Best wishes and thank you!

Sincerely,

Melissa Dracup
