Making the Major Gift Ask

"Making the Major Gift Ask" will be an intensive training session through each key phase of asking a top prospect for a transformative gift – confidently. We'll focus on the groundwork that sets the stage for a smooth personal visit, a framework with actual talking points that you can use and re-use in meetings, and scenario-based training to prepare you for every kind of outcome. With a little structure and inspiration, you can then free up your best energy and enthusiasm to ask your most critical donors for support. Our session will include role play exercises, as well as tips for effectively staffing trustees and other leadership through their own visits.

Speaker Bio

Emilie DeAngelis, Serafina Company

For more than 20 years. Emilie DeAngelis has helped nonprofits in the arts, culture and education fields find and connect with donors to achieve major milestones and ambitions. A fourth-generation native to Albuquerque, she spent most of her career in Chicago and returned home last year to reunite with family and rediscover sunshine. She served as a director on the $400 million capital campaign for the Art Institute of Chicago's Modern Wing, managed the capital campaign for the twelve-time Tony Award winning Steppenwolf Theatre, and conducted the roll out of the $50 million endowment campaign for the Latin School of Chicago. She's now the principal and owner if Serafina Company, a freelance and consulting practice in Albuquerque.
