Do you have the desire to shape and implement fundraising strategy both in person and digitally?
The Development Director serves as a key leadership team member and an active collaborator in making strategic decisions for the organization. The successful candidate will help forge new relationships to build the organization’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. S/he will design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual, corporate and philanthropic support.

Minimum three years proven success in development for a nonprofit. Experience leading fundraising campaigns and a background in fundraising from multiple donor channels, including corporate partnerships, major donors, and annual giving. Experience in the performing arts a must.
Knowledge of, and experience with CRM (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, etc.) and experience revising/editing web page content with the support of the organization’s web design consultant. Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel. The ability to learn and apply new skills.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is required. Postgraduate and/or arts administration degree a plus
Experience in directing and implementing the organization’s digital fundraising strategy, including direct mail and email marketing and promotions.
Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications. Experience and credibility when presenting materials to external audiences.
Research funding sources and trends, to help position the organization ahead of major funding changes or trends.
Oversee the timely submission of grant proposals. Ensure timely reporting and follow-ups with funders.
Plan foundation, government, corporate, individual, and special event fundraising, in conjunction with staff and board personnel including with the Events Chair and Committee manage annual auction fundraisers.
Cultivate new business and corporate sponsorships.
Assist in cultivating individual donors to secure major contributions and sponsorships.
Develop, manage, and oversee direct mail fundraising appeals.
With the Events Chair and Committee manage annual auction fundraiser and other special events
Implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with patrons and upgrading donors’ philanthropy.
Monitor all donor information, including the oversight of timely recording and acknowledgement of donations and sponsorships. Oversee the timely recording and acknowledgment of donations and sponsorships.Provide and present statistical analysis to the Executive Director, Development Chair, Boards of Directors and senior leaders
Work in conjunction with the Creative Director to enhance the organization’s marketing materials with regard to donor and/or sponsor related issues.
Represent the organization in contacts with donors, subscribers, sponsors and funding organizations or agencies and /or events
Full time salaried exempt position at $50K to $60K per annum (DOE), plus performance stipends, and benefits
